The Jharkhand High Court has mandated the state government to ensure that vehicles equipped with 'pressure horns', 'multi-tone horns', 'flag rods', and additional lights are prohibited from operating within the state.
In its ruling, a division bench of the court imposed a complete ban on the use of 'pressure horns' and 'flag rods'.
The court stated, 'Vehicles fitted with 'pressure horns' and 'multi-tone horns' will not be permitted to operate in Jharkhand.'
Furthermore, the bench emphasized that vehicles with extra lights, particularly those in red and blue colors resembling emergency vehicles, must be removed immediately.
The court also instructed the administration to ensure the immediate removal of unauthorized use of 'flag rods' and flags, regardless of affiliations with political parties or religious groups.
Additionally, the High Court mandated strict adherence to the provisions of the flag code and compliance with the central motor vehicle regulations and noise pollution control rules.
A ban was also placed on the use of loudspeakers without permission from 10 PM to 6 AM.
